trips your feet,

how you miss your words
whenever a beautiful voice
seals your silence

and how you forget to breathe
whenever a smile takes
away the air you 
can not catch

when you’re in love.

with girls’ hair— 

  and here I think:

   when she sets it straight,
   it keeps me in line,

   curls make me walk in circles—
   to be lost along the waves,

   cutting it short lengthens
    my pulse to stutter

and waking up to see her bed hair
simply messes me up.
